The City Palace Museum hosted a 2-day Art and Craft Festival & Workshop for the students of Jaipur on Children's Day Nov 14 & 15, 2017.
Ma'am Leela Bordia of Neerja Blue Pottery was cordially invited to participate in the Art and Craft festival on this occasion to interact with nearly 250 students from prominent schools of Jaipur.
On both days, films on the history & process of Blue Pottery were shown to the students in the Banquet Hall followed by a workshop on Blue Pottery at the Pritam Niwas and the Sarvato Hall.
The artisans namely Rashi, Rampalji, Rajendraji, and Sonam participated from Neerja Blue Pottery in the workshop.
There were 2 orientation programs by Ma’am, wherein she explained to the students about the traditional craft of Jaipur. The students personally interacted with her and showed their interest in the intricate craft. Under her expert guidance, the enthusiastic young ones picked up brushes to paint designs of their own liking on tiles to show their artistic prowess.
The students as well as the teachers were highly motivated and inspired to see this beautiful 100% handicraft. The programme culminated by answering to the young enthusiasts who wanted to know and learn more.
