Authored by Leela Bordia, a coffee table book tracing the art of blue pottery was launched on Sunday

After five years of intensive research, a comprehensive 200-page coffee table book titled Jaipur Blue Pottery-A Tribute was officially launched on Sunday at Hotel Marriott in Jaipur. The book was unveiled by social activists and entrepreneurs Faith Singh, Jitendra Pal Singh, Leela Bordia and Kamal Bordia.
On the occasion, Faith Singh said, ”Leela Bordia runs the Jaipur-based Neerja International Inc and is known for her efforts behind placing this craft on the world map for blue pottery.” She appreciated her for showing compassion, sensitivity and empowering crafts persons in the arena of blue pottery.
Nupur Bordia read some experts from the book. Nine crafts persons (Lala Ram from Kotjewar; Lala Ram popularly known as Kanchi; Sitaram Somara; Ram Singh Rajawat; Raju Pahariya; Trilok; Anil Jain; Rakesh Jaat and Rajendra Prasad Morya) were also felicitated at the event.
The author, speaking about the book said, ”The book chronicles the story of the art of blue pottery over the years. It narrates the traditions of the glazed ceramics; the processes involved; products and also lists some of the master craftsman involved in this craft and acknowledges their contribution.” A short film on the art of blue pottery was also screened at the do.
